My dog-ruvin’ work pal Danielle is a bit of a rock enabler. She was on the beach with me when I picked up the shells for this necklace and she was also with me when I bought these psychedelic purple rocks in Las Vegas. But the coolest, most rock-enabling thing that Danielle’s done was bringing me these sandstone rocks from Utah. π
To make a necklace like this, you need:
-Rocks
-Leather scraps (I got mine on Ebay.)
–Leather lace or leather cord (Mine’s 5mm wide.)
-E6000 Superglue
-Thread
-End caps
The necklace is pretty simple to make. First you need to glue the rocks to the leather and cut them out. Leave a little extra at the top to wrap around the leather cord. Also glue the ends of the cord into the end caps.
I did a simple blanket stitch with gold thread all around the outside of the leather and then stitched the leather around the leather cord.
And that’s it! I’ve been really into earthy tones and textures these days, this necklace was the perfect addition. π
love love love those shoes and that blazer! Do you mind if I ask where you got them?
The blazer is from Zara, but the shoes are my roommate's! Not sure where she got them. π
