I am SO excited to show you the newest addition to my Polaroid family– the Polaroid One Step Land Camera! To me, this is one of the best looking Polaroids out there. And I think Polaroids are pretty darn good looking– but this one is tied for first with my Grandpa Deedo’s brown leather SX-70.
I found the little guy in the basement of an antique store in Mooresville, Indiana. Mr. Land Camera was all alone in a dreary basket full of old leather covered 35mm Argus cameras… and when I saw him and realized what I was looking at, I literally gasped! I have been hunting for a rainbow Land Camera for a very long time.
Beautiful.
My first shot with the camera. I really like how the film always distorts the colors in the photos– it’s like the snow is sherbet or something. Tomorrow I am going to take some real snow photos with my Polaroid 103 camera.
I do have good news though– today I found ANOTHER Polaroid One Step Land Camera and I will be listing it for sale on Etsy tomorrow. It needs a good home! So watch out for it tomorrow. π
Ok. I’m off to figure out how to make one of these. (!!!)
Cool!
Cool!
saw an exhibit at the MCA chicago last week that was paintings based from polaroids. and you could so tell that they had originally been polaroids by just the color and exposure! thought i'd share since you are oh so passionate about them.

Hey!! This might be a rather long comment, just to let you know…
So a long time ago I told you I was going to buy this camera(Can't recall which one); I changed my mind because film is on the way out…sadly… Anyways I had some money so I bought a Panasonic LUMIX 14.1 MP WITH 8X Zoom. (Can't complain!!)
Well I have just a few(I hope) questions and comments. <3
1.What do you look for in a camera bag? I have a beautiful Fuji Film Camera, and I wanted to get a bag for it. I don't want to keep it in a box, or let it collect dust. Any tips?
2.Where do you get your Polaroid film?
3.Did you ever use those sticker Polaroids?
Ever use underwater cameras? Not the cheapy kind at Wallgreens.
The toy Polaroid, looks pretty simple to make(mind you I always think that…) Felt, Glue, and some sewing. π
I think that's it. :/ <3

Hey CatAnne! π Happy to help!
1. Whenever I look for a camera bag, mostly I just want to think that it looks cool. I have many different types of camera bags– I use my parents' old canvas and leather bag, I have a vintage velvet lined boxy bag, and my favorite camera bag isnt even a camera bag at all– it's the little Stitch coin purse I got at Disney World when I was 17! (It is in the header of my blog… I use it for my little point and shoot camera) π I would say that any bag or purse would work for carrying around your camera, if I use my purse, I usually have my camera in something soft to keep it safe. A smaller bag, usually. Whenever I want my camera to be really safe, I use my parents old camera bag– it has a lot of cushioning and dividers so I can keep other stuff in it.
If you are looking for places to find cool camera bags, ( I think the new ones they have out there are hideous– the black ones, you know? The plasticky materials… :)) I would look in thrift stores, flea markets, or antique stores. I have the best luck in antique stores. Or, if you want to spend a little more money, there are some GREAT camera bags here at Photojojo:

2. I get my Polaroid film from the Impossible Project:

I get my peel-apart pack film for the Polaroid 103 camera at Amazon. It is actually made by Fujifilm now, but it fits perfectly in all of these old Polaroids! I don't think they are stopping making this stuff anytime soon!
Here's a list of the cameras that can use the Fujifilm pack film:

3. I do use my little Zink Polaroids! A lot, actually! I would find yourself a Zink printer soon if you want one, I tried to find one for a good price for my aunt over Christmas and they are getting difficult to find! I don't think they are going to stop making the papers for them, though… if they do, I am going to stock up! There are tons of packs of papers for sale on Ebay for really good prices.
I use the little stickers in journals, for making cards, giving to friends… I love them!
4. About the underwater cameras, I do not have one– I also don't have one of the cases that goes around a little digital camera so that I could take underwater photos… but I know they make those for a LOT of cameras. I think you could get some REALLY cool pictures from underwater shots… if you ever try it I would love to see them!
Do you have a flickr account or anything? I would love to check out your photos!
I hope this helps! If you want to know anything else, or chat, or something, just ask! :)))
THANKS!! <3
I know what you mean about black and boring… The same with suitcases ugh!! (Although I think they're starting to improve them) I've looked at purses/fabric makeup containers, all sorts… I have a detachable flash, and two lens for it. Right now I have it in an ok bag, but it could use something with compartments to keep everything happy.
The stitch bag is a cute idea. π
I'll have to check all the sites you listed out.
I don't have a Flickr, I should set one up. I remember first hearing about it back when I was 17, and thinking oh cool; but never got around to figuring it out. (Adds to do list.) I actually was going to see if I could use Blogger for that, but Flickr might be better. Thanks!!
When school is in session that's all I really have time to do. It's about 85% on Nursing the rest sleeping, eating, ects.. So I haven't had much time to take recent photos until now. Taking a break from school. π
Do you have Flickr?
Did you happen to look at the Christmas Ads? I remember seeing Polaroid Mini Printers in those crazy 3am sales. Not sure if they're any good or not. I think you connected to the printer via USB, and something about Iphones not compatible.
My friends and I go to the mall in those booths and take crazy pictures. For gifts I go in there myself and hold up papers. You get four pictures so if it's Valentine's Day I would do “I” “<3" "YOU" It's 3 dollars and you get two copies. It's a tiny mall...and I can't bring the lake in that photo booth, and the pictures aren't' sticky.
I'm not a photo expert or anything, and a lot will go right over my head, but I like it and have an interest in photography. My grandpa, who I never met, and died was a photographer professionally(In the UK). Painter too, that must be where I get it from. My dad hated his parents so I never learned a thing. My dad isn't keen on photography/painting. ha ha oh well I must have gotten it all.
THANKS!! <3
