NYC NYC Christmas

NYC Christmas Bucket List

NYC Christmas Bucket List
As I write this, I am sitting at home in Indiana in my bed before I fly back to NYC in the morning. I’ve just had the most wonderful and warm Thanksgiving with my family and I’m so tickled that it’s the holiday season. Of course everyone loves the holidays, I’m not saying anything profound here, but I am especially excited because:

1. I’m a person who likes to wear sequins all year round. (And sequinned attire + bejeweled accessories are the best this time of year. (*Ahem* [Only on sale.]) I’m still kicking myself for not buying this pair of sequinned legging/pants last year.)

2. Boozy drinks, winter sausages, ham, heavy beers.

3. I’ve already been listening to Christmas music since the day after Halloween. I’ve been sneaking the Vince Guaraldi Charlie Brown Christmas record onto the player every time Sean looks away. (Sean’s one of those Christmas music purists… Luckily Adele is not and is a total collaborator with me.) Additionally, I can listen to Feliz Navidad on repeat in July. (And do, on occasion.)

All this aside, I’m especially, especially excited to experience Christmas in New York. In honor of my first time in NYC in December, I’ve made a bucket list for the roomies and I to tackle in the next few weeks.

The 12 Cliche Tasks of My NYC Christmas

  • 1. See the Rockefeller Christmas tree.
  • 2. Drink eggnog in the NY Public Library. (We’re going to have to sneak that one in.) πŸ™‚
  • 3. Make Christmas cookies.
  • 4. Ice skating in Central Park.
  • 5. Drink the most Christmassy drink Starbucks has to offer.
  • 6. Ride the wooden escalators in Macy’s.
  • 7. Find + make a new Christmas cocktail.
  • 8. Decorate a Charlie Brown Christmas tree in the apartment. I’ll be honest– it might be a branch I find in the park.  πŸ™‚
  • 9. See the Barneys window display.
  • 10. Write a letter to Santa.
  • 11. See the Santacon. Santa parade– whatever you want to call it. πŸ™‚
  • 12. Walk through Times Square and take a picture of the New Years’ ball.

And of course, decorate the apartment, dance around to Christmas music, buy presents, give presents, and feel thankful and grateful for everyone around me. πŸ™‚

It is totally on my general bucket list to visit New York during the Christmas season. A few of your list items may make it on my sub-bucket list for that entry. πŸ™‚
