For the past year that we’ve been living in our apartment, my bedroom has been frustrating me a bit because it just didn’t feel right. All of the hod podge furniture and decor just wasn’t coming together properly like it usually does. My stuff never matches, but somehow it always just works. This wasn’t happening for this room.
But then… I added PLANTS. A couple weeks ago I picked up a Chinese evergreen from Home Depot, put it in the bedroom, got tickled at how awesome it looked and then went down the street to buy a few more plants. 🙂
I also painted a few picture frames we picked up off the street and hung them above the bed and on the side walls. After a year of trying to figure out how to set up this weird room, I’m finally happy with it. (Here’s how I made my headboard, here’s how I made my geometric dresser, and here’s how I decoupaged the night stand. :))
Including Adele’s bedroom, we now have 9 (NINE!) barn pulley pendant lights in this apartment. When you find something you like, go all in. (Here’s how we hung two barn pulley pendant light projects.)
This past weekend, Sean and I also covered our closet doors in temporary wallpaper. Here’s the wallpaper I used, but I got mine on Ebay for a really good deal.
The key to wallpapering the doors is just to make sure everything lines up. The paper I used was pretty forgiving and you could lift it back up if you got a bump or a buckle. We did have to take the farthest door off it’s hinges to get the paper on, but it wasn’t necessary for the other doors.
Where my statement necklaces live.
Your bedroom is awesome … and those doors are so cool! I would have never thought to wallpaper doors.
I love the trunk! Where did you find it??
Someone left it out on the street, actually!
I love the use of temporary wallpaper. You can never get burned when things go out of style. Seriously thinking about investing in some of that for mi casa.
Great photos by the way and I, too, love the trunk!
