I’ve introduced my roommate, Adele, a couple times on here a post or two, but I’ve only sprinkled a detail or two. This is the second time Adele and I have lived together, the first time we were in our sorority. It’s so funny to think back on the time we were first roommates because the things we did back then are not all that different than the things we do here in New York– there are just a few less roommates to share the weekend adventures and crafts with. π Adele and I used to run together all the time back then and we would talk about moving to New York– and then it actually happened. π It’s so strange how perfectly things fall together when you want it bad enough.
Now while our runs have changed from the nature park to Central Park (still crazy), we also have jobs instead of school. While I work at BarkBox with all of the pups, Adele works at Vogue. Like– “Devil Wears Prada” Vogue. π On Vogue.com they always do this series called “Five Days, Five Looks, One Girl,” so we thought it would be kind of funny to do one in our apartment. (After all, Adele has helped plan a couple of locations of some of these shoots.)
I’ve always loved Adele’s funky and surprising style, and I’ve kind of noticed that she has a bit of a formula for her outfits. I’ve asked her to explain her formulas for her style below. π
Formula for the heart sweater above, Adele says:
“Girly + Girly, Made okay by somewhat masculine oxfords.”
Formula from Adele:
“Straight-laced dress + Dorky = Contradictory fun.”
Adele’s Formula:
“Grunge + Secretary = Best way to wear a pencil skirt.”
Adele’s formula:
“Boring t-shirt + Interesting accessories + Layers = Way to dress up a t-shirt.”
“Airy cotton candy sweet + down-and-dirty jacket= (Giggles.)”
Adele saw this photo and told me that if she could take a self-portrait with her things, this would be it. An old rug with animal print Doc Martens. I suppose it’s fitting. π
very sweet. I love all the thought behind the outfits, what a nice project to do together

she kinda reminds me (in the nicest way) of Amy Ferrah-Fowler from the Big bang Theory
