When it comes to craft supplies, I love glitter. In the past I’ve made a glittered shirt, a glittered purse, glittered sunglasses, and a glittered lamp shade. So when I received some iron-on glitter sheets to use in a project from the Tulip Holiday Sparkle and Shine campaign, it was not hard to get excited about working on a project with them. π (Also check out their other holiday crafts— they’re really cool!)
I chose to make a glittered deer pillow with my shimmer sheets because I wanted something that was subtly holiday-esque, but could also stay in the apartment all year. Storing holiday decor in New York City isn’t the most fun thing to do. π
For this project you need:
–Tulip Shimmer Sheets
-Fabric (I used an old shirt.)
-Polyfil
-A computer screen to trace your silhouette
To start, I found the silhouette that I wanted to trace and zoomed in until it was at the size I wanted. Then I taped a piece of thin paper on my screen with masking tape and traced the deer shape.
Then I cut the deer out of the shimmer sheet.
Here’s what it looked like before I peeled off the top layer of plastic.
Then, I ironed the deer to my pillow fabric that I’d already cut out in a square. I used a tea towel between the iron and the shimmer sheet so that it wouldn’t stick to the iron. It worked perfectly!
More holiday deer around the apartment. π

It's really cute! Great job. I like that you could use it beyond the holiday season too.
tracing off a computer screen is absolute genius! I love glitter too, but not when it sheds little pieces everywhere…
