A while back, the ladies at For the Makers sent me the most incredible package of goodies from their new shop. I’ve been a subscriber to For the Makers for almost a year now and I’ve loved every single box. Katie and Janet, the founders, put so much emphasis on the details of their boxes and kits and I am always impressed each month. In my experience, so many craft kits are impractical the supplies are so cheap that they look like something that my 12-year-old self would have made at summer camp. This is never true of For the Makers stuff, their projects always look like something straight out of Anthropologie.
To make this grown-up twist on a friendship bracelet you need:
A brass cuff, a friendship bracelet, and some superglue. I also used a little stud for an extra bit of detail but it’s not necessary. (I also initially put these tiny rhinestones on the bracelet but they kept getting caught on my clothes so I just snipped them off.) 🙂
To start, I cut off the ends of the friendship bracelets and stitched them back onto the back of the bracelet.
Then I put the stud in the middle of the bracelet…
…Put some superglue on the back of the bracelet…
…And used all of the chip clips I could find to secure the bracelet to the cuff overnight.
My roommate, Adele, wore this bracelet last weekend when we were walking around Greenpoint, Brooklyn. (Sean was doing lots of med school studying. Yuk.) We were searching for awesome vintage shops but could not find ANY that were priced well. Everything we found felt like an extremely overpriced Indiana Goodwill. Le sigh.
The trees are starting to change in Brooklyn. 🙂

I did the same thing to my plain headband too! Friendship bracelet could really pretty up the accessories! Thanks for sharing the links, those cuffs are gorgeous!
