So when we first moved to our tiny NYC apartment, the three of us brought our own mismatched furniture, decor, and knickknacks. Over the past few months we’ve updated a few of these items to make the apartment more cohesive and put-together. These chairs were the first major things that really made the apartment feel like everything was supposed to look this way– instead of feeling like we had a collection of street-scrounged, parent-donated furniture. Which of course, is the truth. π
Before:
Chairs like this are really easy to reupholster. The only thing you need to do is take the screws out of the bottom, cut fabric to fit around it, and use upholstery tacks to keep the fabric in place.
We used a little black paint to fix up the iron part of the chairs.
The bottom of the chairs. We should’ve used more pushpins, but you can’t see this from the top anyways. π
I think black and white really pops in a room– and apparently I’ve just really got something for black and white chairs. π I made these chairs back in Indiana last fall.
I love love love the chevron seats! So lovely!
I love this! It's so easy yet pretty π
