Last Tuesday I had one of the most special Tuesday mornings that I’ll have for a decade. A bit ago, my friend at work, Tina, casually asked me if I wanted to come to her wedding the following week. So last Tuesday a pack of BarkBoxers and friends met at 9am to throw an entire ceremony and reception in 2 hours before everyone went back to work… Including Tina and Sly who resisted all of our attempts to make them take the day off for their wedding day. ๐
We started in the office with a bottle of champagne and some bouquet + boutonniere assembly. Then the whole crew hitched our pups to our desks and walked the 8-minute trek down to city hall with duck horns, bodega flowers, and cameras.
Tina and Sly outside of City Hall. These two have a crazy love story that spans 3 continents. Tina is from Northern China, Sly is from Hungary. They met in London and then moved to the US! And we are so lucky to have them. ๐
A bit of advice to anybody wanting to get married in City Hall– there is absolutely no wait on Tuesdays at 9:30am in Manhattan. Especially good if you’re bringing 20 people along with you. ๐
For the actual ceremony, they take you off to a side room where an officiant conducts the vows.
After the ceremony we walked back to the office and threw a condensed reception!
There was a first dance, Tina threw her bouquet, we all drank champagne, turned the music up and held an office dance party before 10:30am. I could make a habit of this. ๐ And Congrats Tina and Sly!
